TNA...New Signal Today @ the Closing Bell

At the closing bell today (Jan 19th---> see chart above) we received a sell signal...
So from April 27,2010 through today the performance was 103% net of losses...
Of a total of 14 trades, 9 were winners and 5 were losses...
We will have losses, but we try to minimize them...

Past performance is not indicative of future results.

  2. J...

I do not show longer time frames because these are short term charts with a lot of noise...Some which work and some which do not work...
So I wish to focus on the near term and not get distracted...
Please understand that this blog is the culmination of many years of research...

  4. I wanted to thank you for posting the two turn dates of the Master Cycle. It looks like the first one was right on the button. We will watch to see how close the one for next week is.

  11. What is interesting is that some basic MA's would give the same, if not better results without a couple of the turn arounds........they would not be short yet so it will be interesting! Good trading!

  12. When you get a sell signal, you exit at the close?

Was your sell signal for the close of Jan 19 or today's close, Jan 20?

Have you considered using TNA/TZA such that when you get a sell for TNA, you would close out that TNA long and go long TZA (triple short small cap fund)? A long signal in your system would cause you to close your long TZA position and enter a new long TNA position. So you'd always be in the market.

I too lament the disappearance of your astro charts! :-(

  13. PimaCanyon...

For purposes of keeping the performance chart easy to calculate, it was best to use TNA for both the buy and sell signals...
Yes, I use TNA for the buy signals and TZA for the sell signals...
The signals are not perfect but do have a good track record when you take all the signals...Drawdowns are part of any system...But what we try to do is to ride the gains and keep the losses to a minimum...
Thank you for your understanding about the astro charts...It was fun while it lasted... :-(

  15. cool about TNA/TZA, that you're going long TZA when you get a TNA sell signal.

Your table has an error in it. The last entry says 19-Dec-11. Should read 19-Jan-11.

That answers my question re whether the signal was given at the close on the 19th or the 20th (Your post was dated Jan 20 which gave rise to the confusion)
